Spring Natural Look

Intro 

My name is Vanessa M. Brown and my booklet is based on a makeup tutorial that will show you how to a get a natural spring look. It is simple everyday look if your going to work, or heading to classes. The key to a natural look is to apply makeup that fits your skin complexion. I hope that you will enjoy this booklet I created. 

I created a female character in  illustrator  using the pen tool.  One of the fun tools that was applied was the curve tool , i learned that i could limit the curve by clicking on the dot that was named  anchor.  Additionally window swatches was applied , using the pen tool to outline   command , shift Z. Another thing was grouping by going to windows. This helped makie  different movable shapes into one whole form.  Lastly to get the box color for your pen tool you go to window and find swatches.

Start off with a nice clean face!

Using a clean brush  and foundation powder , lightly powder your face evenly.

Get your blush ready !

 Step 4

Gently pat the brush with blush on top of your fist to get rid of the excess so that you can avoid a caked face.

Then you apply it around your cheeks

The eyeshadow , should be a natural palette to naturally blend in with your eyelids.

 Step 7

Softly make circular movement  around the eyelid so it is evenly distributed  and gives a soft look.

Step 8

Do the inner corner of the eye by adding some white this will help brighten your eye.

Afterward , apply  your favorite choice of mascara.

 Step 10
For the eyebrows , you should have a brush and eyebrow pencil. Softly brush your eyebrow hair to their natural direction and with the pencil lightly fil in where the hair are light.

 Step 11

Afterward , use a creamy color to go under  the eyebrows. This will make your eyebrow look like they were freshly done.

  

Step 12 

Lastly are the lips ! Before applying a natural lip color make sure to moisturize them with a lip balm of your choice.

First Idea
.

For my first idea I went with an animated chill girl that had bunch of ideas and different designs coming from her head. This concept came from early studies / drawings I was doing when I was in high school. Some of the objects that are coming out are bubbles saying "grow" , "anatomy" and paintbrushes . I personally saw my growth in the art classes I took my sophomore year more than my freshman year.  The classes focused more on studio classes which fits what I am going for. Afterward I had a caterpillar morphing into a butterfly which is another symbolism of growth.

I decided that I would do my tutorial  on how I do my daily  makeup. Before I start I usually wash my face with a face cleanser , i use Neutrogena but any cleanser that is known to clean pores and remove oils is good. After i apply foundation with a powder brush lightly spread from my cheeks to the contour , then chin , nose , and lastly forehead.  Then i apply a little bit of blush because  i have big rosie cheeks. Now we are getting to the best part the eyes!  If i feel like a girly girl i ll add a neutral palette on my eyes n a bit of gold. After i apply the eye shadows i use a blending brush to give it a clean smokie look.  Now that i finish coloring my eyelids i go over my eyes with liquid eyeliner. i prefer that kind of eyeliner because it is smooth , defined and a clean look. After the eyeliner contour i sometimes use a eyeliner pencil and do my waterline. The second best part are they eyelashes! I use collasal eyelash mascara . Second to last is the eyebrows. They are additionally secondly most important after the eyes because they help with your facial structure. I first brush my eyebrows to their natural curves and sometimes final in the back peek . Last but not least is your lips. I love to add a lip balm , that nurtures  lips and a lipstick of a pink hue.

She also talked about bleeds and how its a run outside of lines we also about the presentation view if you just want to see the main thing your working on. We went over  strokes, color , and color swatches.  The tools we use for InDesign are very similar are
Today in class for Computers for Artist, I learned about the drop down menus for Adobe Illustrator. The menus used for Illustrator are very similar to the menus used for Photoshop. There is a lot of common likeness to the Adobe program. The only differences you may see are applications purchased by Adobe like Dreamweaver  for example.
Throughout the class we went over several drop down menus used in Adobe Illustrator
File deals with the file itself. For example if you would like to save the file or save as (save under a different file name), print, email, export or close the file, you can do all of that located in the file drop down menu.

Edit deals with the many things you can do to the file you are working on.
The Tools panel contains tools for creating and editing images, artwork, page elements, and so on. Related tools are grouped. In addition to the tools on the Tools panel, which are used for creating and editing objects, you will also find color controls, a menu or icons for choosing a drawing mode, and a menu for choosing a screen mode. If the panel is hidden, choose Window > Tools to display it. To convert the panel layout from single column to double column or vice versa, either click the double arrowhead at the top or double-click the top bar.

The Control panel displays options for the currently selected tool. In Illustrator, the Control panel displays options for the currently selected object. (In Adobe Photoshop this is known as the Options bar. In Adobe Flash®, Adobe Dreamweaver, and Adobe Fireworks this is known as the Property Inspector and includes properties of the currently selected element.)

The Document window displays the file you’re working on. Document windows can be tabbed and, in certain cases, grouped and docked.The Application frame groups all the workspace elements in a single, integrated window that lets you treat the application as a single unit. When you move or resize the Application frame or any of its elements, all the elements within it respond to each other so none overlap. Panels don’t disappear when you switch applications or when you accidentally click out of the application.

Aside from the menus we learned how to make different paths from objects or shapes.
In class our professor taught us to not leave a line in a file because it can change. The stroke could be a different stroke size, or the line could change without the point size changing. Also someone could change the lines if they wanted to or by accident.
She also taught us that we can create a line the got to path > outline, and it will outline the line creating a narrow rectangle. If you were to have a curved line it would follow the shape given.
If you take a dotted line and go to path > outline stroke, it will select them and give you a series of dots/different shapes that are grouped.

 

March Classes

Today in Computer for Artist class , I learned  things about Adobe Illustrator. The following things I learned and reviewed were the menu windows such as file, edit, window, and path. I also learned and reviewed the following tools: Type tool, line segment tool, black arrow, white arrow, magic wand, lasso tool, pen tool, and the convert arrow anchor.
In class, my professor was talking about the grading that will done for the class. She was explaining that we need to keep up with our blog posts, and our final project which is the tutorial video. Also our printed tutorial book which is at least six pictures along with six steps on how to go about doing the tutorial.
The main assignments that counted for a large sum of our grades includes the following:
Charrette Ideation: We were to create three 18x24 sketches of our ideas for the Charrette being held in the department.
Midterm Test: A test going over everything that we covered in class for the first half of the semester.
Final Charrette Submission: The final composition of your finished piece for the charrette for the department.
Blog Posts: All of the blog assignments that have been given on the class worksheet. Currently we are up to 19 posts. Our professor will be checking them towards the end of the term. She will be checking the quality and quantity of the blog posts.
External Hard drive: She will be checking whether we have them or not.
Online Tutorial: A print out of images from our tutorial showing all steps (at least six) that we use to complete the tutorial.
Attendance: Our performance on showing up to class on time.
The application that was covered in class today was Adobe Illustrator. My professor reviewed the content we covered last class. The things we covered were the drop down menus like file or edit.
A tool she showed us today was the clipping mask. This is where you take an object and put it over an object that you want it to fit into.
For example if you have a background and an object you want as a foreground. You can take that foreground object and place it over the background object and erase the areas you don’t want to be in the background.
Another thing my professor showed me in class was how to create an outline for a type. This can be used well for typography art, word art or logos. You do not want to hand over a file that has type in it because someone could change it. How you create an outline for whatever type you are doing you go to create outlines (shift+ctrl+O). Next the object is no longer letters, they are now shapes. I enjoyed learning how to create type outlines.
Adobe Illustrator is a very amazing and creative tool. I look forward to learning more throughout my CPU for Artist class.

Today's class was about Photoshop.  She was showing us how to manage  the colors on picture and how to edit them.

Second day she continued on Photoshop . You can learn how to set up  the mousse so that It can be more convenient . Two fingers will be equal as a right click. Additionally talked about selecting areas . The area the image would occupy .  She mentions  filters, drop shadows,  click view to get a preview of the image your working on.  Go to window if you want to view your applications and command Z is to undo any mistake or action. Other things we talked about was the magic wand this tool can be used to outline the picture and remove it from its background.

Questions to think about whom will your tutorial help?  what can you offer through this tutorial ? why are you a good fit  for this subject and what is your expense  in this subject ? the tutorial can be on any subjects.

I would do my first tutorial on how to apply makeup and eyebrows. The reason I would want to do this video is because I love makeup . Its like art you put you on your face that doesn't have to necessarily cover your face but just lightens up your visage. I don't cake up my face I put enough to suffice my face and characteristics.

My second tutorial would be on doodling . I love to draw from the top of my head because that means that your just going with the flow f things and your not pressured .


the last tutorial could be a cleansing video about the steps of cleansing your body , the end results of how good the body feel.

This tutorial is about a painter who shows us how to paint an impressionistic painting.  There is a few reasons on why this video has many good qualities. I like that the video had perfect time it wasnt too fast and not too short but simple. He shows us his steps and has music to keep us entertained.

This tutorial is on how to a draw nose . I like that on what paper he showed his steps at its simplest form to its complete work . He kept it simple and basic , understandable for just about anyone.  Im currently  taking  life drawing II class and one my weaknesses  is drawing faces . This video was definetly hlepful.

This tutorial was on how to a draw an aye step by step. It was dont by Poko which is a fmous artist  ho has a youtube chanell with tons of tutorials on diferrent art subjects. I was in love with this video because he was  so deliberate to show every example we could relate on how to draw an eye. He went into the most simplest way to break it down . He also mentioned how different the eyebrows of man n woman are.

 In this class period we talked microsoft and the difference between  office and the Mac programs.  In office you have microsoft word, table, power point. On a Mac book you different programs like Ilustrator , Idesign , and photoshop .

Technology is taking over our society each year and as an artist I believe that having a  good camera, a computer and printer is all I would need . A good camera because you need to be able to take pictures  of your artwork , of sceneries and more.  The second helpful technology would be a printer due to having to print out some work ,important documents whatever it might be . Lastly and the most important technology is a laptop. You are able to access the internet being connected to al types of important people , you can post you artwork on your own website, blog , facebook , etc.. Its a communication requirement because of how much a laptop does. Additionally you can download certain programs that are graphic design use .  Technology will always be some type of benefit to the art world .

As an artist I always had a deep love art. I have a mindset of wanting to learn all types of new art. I love multi media because you get to work in a broad environment . The two favorite things I love to do the most since I was young is drawing and painting . I had a like for pencils , color pencils , any supply you could put down on a piece of paper. When I was in middle school I loved drawing animes , and dark horror females. As I passed on to high school I went to an advanced art classes all the way up to Ap art. My art was consisting of doodling design  like organic forms , flowers , tribal designs and hippy . When it comes to my paintings I was a fan of Van Gogh and Monet. A lot of their artwork was during the time period of impressionism . In impressionism paintings you had a lot of warm colors , dashes type of texture and peaceful .  I was attracted to the palettes they used for their paintings that I adapted that method. When you paint it is a sense of freedom and warmth.

When it comes to a process on how i get work done i start off by doing some research  on the subject. I like to look at examples and being to draw a lot of sketches of the subject. In order to come overcome art block you have to just keep putting your ideas down on paper until your absolutely sure that there isn't anything else you could draw.  Always start off with a check list or general ideas . Once you have picked the idea  you get to continue the process of finally starting on the project. Always lay a layout of whatever your putting down on paper, canvas , illustration board , etc...  From there you work on the project until your satisfied and beleive that there is truly nothing left for you to do .

hey ! SO..i’ll start off by introducing myself . My name is Vanessa M.Brown . I am studio art major and i absolutely love anything that has to deal with art. I’ve had a love and passion for art since Elementary and I didn’t pursue it until my eight grade year. I took A.P Art in twelve grade and had the opportunity to go to National Art Portfolio Day in D.C. I am mixed with french black and algerian and lived some of my childhood in France. I officially moved to the U.S in 03 . I’ve lived here for now ten years. I still have my accent and can speak it as well. I am very outgoing , goofy , clumsy and love to chill with friends.
